At two of the absolutely worst moments ...Hi Gayle,<br /><br />At two of the absolutely worst moments of my life - both dealing with life-or-death events with my daughter - a nurse was standing beside me. By their mere presence and solidity, I was able to make it through. At the time I felt they had purposefully stationed themselves beside me, so I wouldn't be standing alone. I may not remember much from those horrible moments, but I remember those nurses faces and what they wore down to every detail. To this day - nine years later - conjuring those moments makes tears of gratitude well in my eyes. It might have seemed like nothing to an outsider - but to me, it was everything.
